1. Who This Disclaimer Is For
This disclaimer is provided by SLR Associates Pty Ltd (ACN 628 140 241) trading as Sarah Rusbatch and applies to all users of our app, courses, coaching programs, and related services.
It is particularly important for anyone who currently drinks alcohol heavily, drinks daily, or is concerned they may be alcohol dependent.
2. Acknowledgement Required Before You Proceed
Before you can access the Reset App, you will be asked to confirm the following:
• I have read and understood this Alcohol Dependency Disclaimer;
• I understand that this App is not a clinical treatment for alcohol dependency or alcohol use disorder;
• I understand that suddenly stopping or significantly reducing alcohol consumption can be dangerous for people who are alcohol dependent; and
• If I drink daily, drink heavily, have experienced withdrawal symptoms, or have any health condition that may be affected by changes to my alcohol consumption, I confirm that I have consulted or will consult a qualified medical professional before making changes.
By proceeding to use the App, you confirm that you have read and agree to the above.
3. Our Services Are Not a Treatment for Alcohol Dependency
The Reset App, Sarah Rusbatch coaching programs, online courses, and all related content are designed to support people who wish to reduce or eliminate their alcohol consumption as a lifestyle and personal wellbeing choice.
Our Services are not:
• A clinical treatment program for alcohol use disorder (AUD);
• A medically supervised detoxification service;
• A rehabilitation or residential treatment program;
• A substitute for professional addiction treatment or counselling; or
• Appropriate for use as the sole support for managing alcohol dependency.
4. Alcohol Withdrawal Can Be Dangerous
WARNING: Suddenly stopping or significantly reducing alcohol consumption can cause serious and potentially life-threatening withdrawal symptoms in people who are alcohol dependent. Do not attempt to stop drinking abruptly without medical supervision if you may be alcohol dependent.Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can include, but are not limited to:
• Tremors, shaking, or sweating;
• Anxiety, agitation, or confusion;
• Nausea and vomiting;
• Elevated heart rate or blood pressure;
• Seizures; and
• Delirium tremens (DTs) — a severe and potentially fatal form of withdrawal.
5. Please Seek Medical Advice Before Starting
If any of the following apply to you, you must consult a qualified medical professional before making any changes to your alcohol consumption:
• You drink alcohol every day or most days;
• You drink large amounts of alcohol regularly (e.g. more than 4 standard drinks per day);
• You have previously experienced withdrawal symptoms when you stopped or reduced drinking;
• You have been told by a doctor that you are alcohol dependent;
• You feel physically unwell if you do not drink alcohol;
• You have a history of seizures; or
• You have any liver, heart, or other chronic health condition.
6. What to Do If You Need Help
If you are concerned about your relationship with alcohol or believe you may be alcohol dependent, we strongly encourage you to reach out to a qualified professional or support service:
Medical Support
• Speak with your GP — they can assess your level of dependence and recommend a
safe approach to reducing or stopping drinking, including medically supervised
withdrawal if needed.
• Hospital Emergency Department — if you are experiencing severe withdrawal
symptoms, seek emergency medical care immediately by calling 000 (Australia).
